Job Summary:
Establish and maintains strong community partnerships between the school and surrounding businesses, community agencies, parents, and government agencies by coordinating a strong school-based partnership that advances school and district goals and objectives for greater student achievement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with hearing and screening programs
Experience working within the school setting
Familiarity with Database entry
Essential Functions:
- Assists the school in identifying and implementing programs and initiatives for a volunteer friendly environment.
- Serves as the point of contact for school and community volunteer organization staff and in accepting student volunteer recommendations.
- Serves as the point of contact with students and parents and/or guardians for teachers requesting volunteers.
- Provides case management for mentors not part of a formal program or a program with a case manager.
- Collects academic data (progress reports, report cards, absenteeism reports, and disciplinary actions) for students being mentored and/or in a program involving volunteers and provides to relevant school staff, Community Involvement, Project REACH, and mentoring program staff for use in parent conferences and tracking success of school volunteer program.
- Maintains a database of student volunteer information, scheduled school visits, and a waiting list of student volunteers.
- Creates and distributes school volunteer newsletter, or section, that informs parents, school staff, business and community partners of school volunteer activities and events.
- Organizes and participates in special school events and activities to recognize volunteers and promote the school's community partnerships.
- Creates and maintains a "Volunteer Toolbox"
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience: Experience working with community groups preferred.

- Knowledge of case management

- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong word processing and database software skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to support volunteer involvement program
- Ability to work flexible schedule to support volunteer activities, including non-school hours
- Ability to maintain reliable transportation
